Audio Sampling

Tonight was interesting….
I wanted to record some ambient noise, so I setup my mobile recording gear and jumped in my car at around 9:45pm.   First I headed to some train tracks and decided to walk down the train tracks a bit to get away from the noise of the sparsely passing cars.  After 20-30 minutes I gave up waiting for a train haha.

I then decided to drive around for an hour with my windows open listening for potential sounds to record.
I found a few hums and buzzes from lights and stuff.  I also found some good machinery noise at the kingsford coal factory.

I got chased away from a walmart parking lot while trying to record the hum coming from one of the lights.  I’m now researching loitering laws to see if the security guard had any legal backing to their "loitering charge".

Amongst searching for sounds I also found some cool stuff to do :-)

So there is a place where you can learn and go square dancing…. I need to get some cowboy boots.
I also found a place by where I live that has batting cages and a place dedicated to bingo every night.

Those may be some fun out of the blue things to do one of these days.
